Minnesota has a consumer privacy law, the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act, found at Minnesota Statutes sections 325M.10 to 325M.21, which took effect on July 31, 2025. That Act applies only to businesses that control or process the personal data of at least 100,000 consumers, or that derive more than 25 percent of their gross revenue from selling personal data while handling data on at least 25,000 consumers. The Guitar Shop is far below both thresholds and is also excluded as a small business, so the Act does not apply to us and we do not claim otherwise. One requirement of that Act does still reach small businesses in Minnesota: we must not sell a consumer’s sensitive data without prior consent. We do not sell any personal data at all.
To make a request, contact us using the details in section 12. We will respond within a reasonable time.
9. Third Party Links
This website may link to other websites, such as our profiles on review and social media platforms. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Their policies apply once you leave this website.
10. Children’s Privacy
This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has submitted information through this website, contact us and we will delete it.
We do teach music lessons to students who are minors. When a student is under 18, we ask that a parent or legal guardian make the enquiry, book the lesson, and provide the contact details. Any information we hold about a student who is a minor is provided by, and handled through, that parent or guardian.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Continuing to use this website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
