The People Behind the Counter
Six teachers work out of the five lesson rooms here, covering guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, and piano between them. Most studied music formally and several still perform around the Twin Cities. Guitar repair is handled in house by the owner, a working luthier, which means setups, fretwork, bridge work, and crack repair all happen on the bench in this building.
Where We Started
The shop opened in 2012 around a simple idea: a music store should be somewhere you can hang around, not just buy something and leave. That is still how it runs. Lessons, repair, and the wall of guitars all work out of the same building, so the teacher you book with and the bench that sets up your guitar are a few steps from the front counter.
