Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2, 2026

These terms apply to the use of this website and to the services provided by The Guitar Shop at our store in Rosemount, Minnesota. The Guitar Shop operates only in Minnesota.

1. Services

We provide music lessons, guitar repair and setup work, and the sale of new and used musical instruments and accessories.

All services are subject to availability, to scheduling, and to the condition of the instrument brought to us. We may decline to take on a job for safety or legal reasons, or where the work would not be in the instrument’s interest.

2. Pricing and Estimates

Repair prices published on this website are our standard rates for standard work. The price for your instrument is confirmed with you at the counter before any work begins. Where a rate is shown with a plus sign, additional parts or labor may apply, and any such addition is discussed with you before it is carried out.

Lesson tuition is charged per half hour lesson and is paid in advance for each four-week semester. Instrument prices are set in store and are not published on this website.

Any estimate given verbally is not binding unless it is put in writing. A final price may differ once an instrument has been examined or opened up, and no additional work is carried out without your agreement.

3. Payments

This website does not collect payments. No payment details are entered on, or processed through, this site.

Payment is handled in person at the store. Payment for repair work is due on completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Lesson tuition is due in advance of the semester it covers. Failure to pay may result in lawful collection action.

4. Appointments, Lessons, and Instrument Drop Off

Lesson times are reserved for the student they are booked for. Where a lesson is missed, rescheduled, or cancelled, the terms that apply are the ones agreed with you at the time of enrollment.

Instruments left with us for repair remain your property. Please tell us about any known damage, prior repair, or modification when you drop an instrument off, and take any valuables out of the case beforehand. Instruments should be collected promptly once we tell you the work is finished.

5. Privacy

Information you send us through this website is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

7. Disclaimers

Services are provided as is unless otherwise agreed in writing. Repair work is carried out to a professional standard, but the outcome depends on the condition, age, and construction of the instrument, and some faults cannot be fully corrected. We do not guarantee a particular outcome, tone, playability standard, or completion date unless we have agreed one with you in writing.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost income, missed performances, or loss of opportunity. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including parts availability. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service that gave rise to the claim.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the jurisdiction of the Minnesota courts.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies.
